Geraint Thomas, Race Director, stated: "The academy system played a crucial role in shaping my career. It taught me how to be a professional: taking care of myself, staying healthy, being organized, and preparing adequately. All these simple habits and behaviors have stayed with me throughout my career. For me, the priority is helping young riders learn what it means to be a professional. Some are living away from home for the first time, others have moved from the other side of the world, so they have a lot to learn. It's about race skills, understanding your body, and managing emotions, not just hitting numbers. It's the complete package. We've signed some interesting guys in the Racing Academy, and seeing them all together for the first time was exciting: it's like I've gone back 20 years. I imagine myself sitting where they are now, with the entire journey ahead of them. They are young, enthusiastic, and it's fantastic to have them integrated into the WorldTour team."
