Just a few days and the Selle Smp Master Cross will live its 2nd act. After the opening with record numbers in Casalecchio di Reno, next Sunday, November 23rd, Piedmont will host the 2nd stage. The appointment is in San Francesco al Campo, near Turin, precisely at the Francone Velodrome, for the 4th Turin International Cyclocross. The event, sponsored and supported by the Piedmont Region, is now a full-fledged international cyclocross classic. Turin International Cyclocross was presented in the splendid setting of the Fausto Coppi Motovelodromo in Turin, together with the final stage of the Giro delle Regioni, which will be held in Cantoira on Saturday, November 22nd.
At the helm will be the president of the organizing committee of Asd Velodromo Francone Davide Francone and Giacomino Martinetto, who held the presidency for over 20 years. The event will have great media coverage. All races can be followed live on the Master Cross Facebook page. Raisport will broadcast a comprehensive summary of the key races.
"Our race has now become a great international classic" – comments Davide Francone – "and represents a strong expression of the territory and what it brings to the territory. Thanks to the Piedmont Region and Metropolitan City for the institutions' proximity to Francone Velodrome and naturally to FCI Piedmont for support and collaboration. When Turin International Cyclocross was born, we called it this way to go beyond San Francesco al Campo and make it a brand that goes beyond territorial boundaries. The Francone Velodrome is now a reality that goes beyond San Francesco al Campo, as evidenced by Turin International Cyclocross itself, with RAI's presence for the fourth consecutive year. Our event this year is part of the collateral events of the '2026 European Sports Community' project, a recognition given to the 'Terre del Canavese' consortium, to celebrate a territory that has made sport an engine of inclusion, health, and development".
During the presentation, the collaboration between Francone Velodrome and AIDO – Italian Association for Organ, Tissue, and Cell Donation – was formalized. A relationship that has been nurtured in San Francesco al Campo for over a year but was sealed with a symbolic triple signature by Davide Francone, Valter Mione (provincial AIDO president and regional AIDO honorary president), and Roberto Martino (president of the intercommunal AIDO group of San Francesco al Campo, Ciriè, Robassomero, San Carlo Canavese, Vauda Canavese, Front, and Rivarossa).
The race track is about to be completed and will follow last year's edition. The course was designed in collaboration with Team Cicloteca. As tradition dictates, start and finish will be inside the glorious Velodrome. Outside, there will be no shortage of technical and selective sections.
