Calabria might welcome back the Giro d'Italia. Four years after Démare's winning sprint in Scalea and the subsequent restart from Diamante, the region is working to host three stages of the 2026 "pink race".
The three stages would cover both the Tyrrhenian and Ionian coastlines, and one of the stage locations should be the city of Vibo Valentia, according to rumors collected by Vibosport.
The article published by the local outlet reveals that the official presentation of the Calabrian stages was already scheduled for this month but has been postponed to allow the recently elected Regional Council to complete its installation and necessary deliberations.
Fans will have to wait a bit longer to discover the details of the 2026 Giro d'Italia, which is certain to start from Bulgaria, as recently confirmed by RCS MediaGroup President Urbano Cairo.
