The Alfredo Binda Cycling Society, for 5 years now, has successfully proposed the women's version of their race, with the goal of enhancing and promoting professional women's cycling, a constantly growing reality that today represents one of the strengths of the entire movement, which the society chaired by Renzo Oldani wants to support.
The Tre Valli Varesine Women's Race | e-work, although young, has already secured a place among the most anticipated events of the season. In just four editions, the race has attracted some of the best teams from the international landscape: World Tour teams, Continental and important club formations. A growing success, to the point of being included, starting from 2024, in the prestigious UCI Women's ProSeries calendar, on par with the men's race. In just four editions so far, the women's race's honor roll is already of great prestige with the victories of Cuban Arlenis Sierra who won in the first 2021 edition; Elisa Longo Borghini in 2022, German Liane Lippert triumphant in 2023, and French Cédrine Kerbaol victorious a year ago.
The Course.
Confirmed is the Textile Museum in Busto Arsizio as the stage headquarters with the presentation of teams and athletes who will parade in the garden's lineup and the official race start. The "pink" Tre Valli will be run over a distance of 136.3 kilometers with an initial line section of about 40 kilometers, from Busto Arsizio to Varese, where the girls will then enter the final circuit of about 16 kilometers to be repeated six times. Also confirmed is the finish on Sacco Avenue, in front of the Varese City Hall.
At the Start. 21 teams are participating in the women's race where the presence is confirmed of the new Women Elite Road World Champion, Canadian Magdeleine Vallieres, from EF Education – Oatly, who will have race number 1, and alongside her will also be able to count on French Cedrine Kerbaol, winner in Varese a year ago. The Italian national champion jersey of Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ) will be present and making her debut with the European champion jersey is Dutch Demi Vollering (FDJ-Suez). Other notable names include former world champion Elisa Balsamo with world vice-champion Niamh Fisher-Black (Lidl-Trek), African Kim Le Court-Pienaar (AG insurance – Soudal Team), fresh from victory in the Giro dell'Emilia, and Movistar Team will also field the fresh Junior Women World and European Champion Paula Ostiz, as a trainee.
A quarter of an hour before the start, European Champion Demi Vollering, World Champions Magdeleine Vallieres and Paula Ostiz, and Italian Champion Elisa Longo Borghini will be called together on stage and will then also line up in the front row at the start.
