A press release from Gs Emilia announcing the upcoming races on Saturday, October 4th, 2025 - the Giro dell'Emilia Granarolo and the Giro dell'Emilia BCC Felsinea Women Elite - reveals a last-minute development: Israel Premier Tech will not compete in the classic Emilian race.
The Israeli team no longer appears in the list of participating teams for the men's race, which will feature a 199 km route with 2,650 meters of elevation gain: after a flat start from Mirandola, the race will quickly become challenging with the climbs of San Lorenzo in Collina and Mongardino, followed by the long ascent towards Monzuno and the selective climb to Monte Calvo. The finale will be in Bologna with the traditional circuit including five passages on the San Luca Hill, two short but brutal kilometers capable of making the difference.
Evidently, the announced boycott by ProPal protesters and the stance of the Bologna city council, but most importantly the risk of seeing the race stopped or not even starting due to riders' refusal to put themselves at risk - a choice loudly announced at the end of the Vuelta by the CPA but never implemented until now - have convinced the organization to pressure the Israeli team, which ultimately decided to withdraw from the race.
It will be important to see how Israel Premier Tech, whose young riders, for example, participated today in the GP Cerami in Belgium without any issues, will decide to approach races scheduled in Northern Italy and Northern Europe in the coming weeks.
