Probably the juniors' road race is the most anticipated among the youth categories of the world championships in Kigali, Rwanda. First because it's the reference category, second because in the group there are new talents we'll see among professionals already from the next season.

There will be 141 riders representing 71 nations at the start. The race is 119.3 kilometers long, starting at 8 o'clock in the morning. Three Azzurri we'll see in the group: Mattia Agostinacchio and Roberto Capello whom we already had the chance to know and follow in last Tuesday's time trial (9th and 6th respectively). With them Giacomo Rosato, 18 years old from Asolo of Team F.lli Giorgi. Three excellent pawns, all with the necessary qualities for the Rwandan course and to aim for the podium. We're in good shape, but it's clear that the competition also enjoys an excellent reputation and won't just be watching.

Making a prediction is not easy. Also because the title contenders, including our Italians, are at least twenty. Among the most dangerous, we cite the German Herzog, who races with Capello in Team Grenke Auto Eder, the French Blanc (two stages at Giro della Lunigiana), the Spanish Noval and the Belgian Van Kerckhove who instead won the "Lunigiana". A step below we find the Americans Barry and Hincapie, both sons of art, and their compatriot Drake, the Canadian Morin, the Mexican Cisneros (could he be the new Del Toro?), the South African Johnson and the time trial world champion, the Dutchman Mouris. If we must consider surprises, we should keep an eye on the Japanese Narita who won the race in Mercatale di Cortona, the British Hudson, the Austrian Fugger, the Polish Jackowiak, the Belgian Claisse, the Slovenian Stare and the Swedish duo composed of Reinhold and Wandal. The final word obviously belongs to the road.
