Movistar continues its renewal campaign for the next season: after recently announcing the signings of Raul Garcia Pierna from Arkea B&B and Roger Adrià from Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe - both of whom signed three-year contracts -, a third new acquisition is now official: Juan Pedro "Juanpe" López will race for the Telefónica team for the next two seasons.
López, born in 1997, comes from Lidl Trek and explains: "It's an honor to sign for a team with the values of Team Movistar, a home team after six years away from Spain. There comes a time when changes can bring something good, and moving to my home team is a double ambition".
Regarding the meaning of this step in his career, the cyclist from Lebrija adds: "Taking this step is a great opportunity for me. I want to put my experience at the team's disposal and I still have a few years to give 100% of myself and my best for the team. I want to learn from my teammates and contribute with my experience, but above all, try to give my maximum. I think this is the right team for me and I want to enjoy it 100%".
