The route remains true to tradition: 13 laps of 15 kilometers each, for a total of about 195 kilometers. The key moments remain the selective climbs of Via Tiberi (between the Basilica of the Madonna of the Seven Sorrows and Colle di Mezzo) and Colle Caprino. The passage through Montesilvano Colle will also be crucial, not only for the climb but especially for the technical and fast descent that precedes the long final straight towards the finish line in Piazza Duca degli Abruzzi. This year, due to ongoing work on Viale Bovio, the route undergoes a small modification: no passage through Leonardo da Vinci, the race will continue through Via Donatello and Via Caravaggio, then reconnect to the traditional circuit starting from the Jesuits.
Among the technical innovations of the race is the establishment of the "Safety Finish Line", dedicated to raising awareness about athlete protection, promoting a culture of respect, and protecting road users: an award conceived by the Professional Cycling League and the Minister for Sports and Youth to reward the most combative athlete and will be awarded at the end of the twelfth lap.
