The Giro della Lunigiana stage consecrates Johan Blanc, who wins the second half-stage of the third leg from Pontremoli-Fivizzano, covering 52.1 kilometers. The French rider from Aveyron, racing for Groupama FDJ U19, edged out Giulio Pavi Degl'Innocenti from Team Vangi Il Pirata by a few meters, with Belgian Steff Van Kerckhove consolidating his overall lead.
For the third time in four stage finishes, France stamps its mark on the Fivizzano finish line at the Giro della Lunigiana. Johan Blanc prevailed in a thrilling second half-stage packed with attacks: breaking away at the start of the final climb towards Fivizzano together with Pavi Degl'Innocenti and Frigo, he managed to resist the Green Jersey group's comeback. Degl'Innocenti, second at 1", preceded the overall classification leader, Seff Van Kerckhove, who gained 5" on his closest rivals thanks to bonus seconds and a small gap at the finish line. On the eve of the final stage, the Belgian leads the classification with 8" over Friedl and 19" over Haugetun. Fourth was the best Italian, Venetian Giacomo Rosato.
