Yesterday's stage will unfortunately remain in the history of the Vuelta: the decision to neutralize the stage but still take times at the Pike summit caused chaos, disruption, discussions, and controversy. These will inevitably have repercussions on the continuation of the race, starting with today's stage, number 12: departing from Laredo to arrive at Los Corrales de Buelna after 144.9 km.

A stage that promises to be explosive is being raced on the roads of Cantabria, characterized by two climbs: the first, Alisas, measures 8.6 km at 5.8% and has all the potential to become the launching pad for the day's breakaway. The second - the Collada de Brenes of 7 km at 7.9% - offers the mountain summit just 22 km from the finish. The last part of this climb is particularly challenging, and gaining an advantage up there could be a great move, because from the mountain summit to the finish it will be practically all very fast descent.
