Fred Wright is preparing to join the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team with a three-year contract. The 26-year-old Londoner brings high-level experience and results in the classics, most recently his ninth place in this year's Paris Roubaix, as well as consistent performance in challenging one-day races and stage races.
"I have been part of Bahrain-Victorious throughout my career, they have given me so much, but it's time to measure myself in a new environment after six years. And Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team seems like a good solution for me: I know Tom Pidcock and Mark Donovan and it feels like the group they are building for the future is already familiar."
General Manager Doug Ryder has followed Wright's career and is enthusiastic about having him in the team for the next three years: "Fred is an intelligent rider. He reads races well and is very versatile. He has already reached top tens in Monuments like Milan-San Remo, Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix, and the classics will be one of his objectives. He has come close to victory in the Tour de France and Vuelta a España, and I feel we can offer him the final step to win again. He has a great engine and his attacking style is ideal for our team. When we were looking for riders to strengthen our classics squad, he quickly entered our radar. He is only 26 years old and I can't wait to see what we can achieve together in the next three years."
