The MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack Team will be protagonists at the Florence-Viareggio on August 15th, a historic national classic for elite and under 23 riders organized by A.S. Aurora. The Ferragosto race, now in its 78th edition, offers a route rich in charm and tradition. Last year, the Bergamo-based team topped the podium thanks to Sergio Meris, now a professional with Unibet-Tatiema. In this edition, the team will field Makrai, Vesco, Ambrosini and Cipollini, with Valoti and Dileo in the support car.
The following day will be the Capodarco City Cup, an event that has brought satisfaction to the team in recent years. Two years ago, Matteo Ambrosini secured a prestigious victory with a decisive final sprint, while in 2024 Manuel Oioli finished third. At the start will be Nespoli, Novak, Chesini, Bracalente and Masciarelli, led by Antonio Bevilacqua. This is a lineup suited to more selective routes: notable is the return of Pavel Novak after a high-altitude training period and Lorenzo Nespoli, while the Abruzzo native Lorenzo Masciarelli, a deep connoisseur of Capodarco roads, is ready to give his all.
"We come from a period of great results and want to continue on this path," declared Antonio Bevilacqua. "We have managed the athletes to best program their form peaks, because the season is still long. With the intense heat of these days, the races will be even more challenging than usual, and I expect highly selective competitions with excellent competition, including international riders."
