Alberto Dainese is the latest rider to have signed a contract with Soudal Quick-Step, whose colors he will wear until the end of 2027. Originally from Abano Terme, Dainese has made a name for himself in sprints, collecting some undoubtedly significant victories in his career.
Three of these came in the Grand Tours: in 2022 and 2023 he won a stage at the Giro d'Italia, followed by a victory at the Vuelta a España, which remains Italy's most recent victory in the Spanish Tour. From the next season, as a member of Soudal Quick-Step, he hopes to add more victories to his palmares and, at the same time, contribute to the team's victory tally.
"I have dreamed of joining the Wolfpack since I was a child. I remember watching the team on TV and being impressed by their mentality and winning culture, and I am truly happy to finally have this opportunity. I have noticed in the group how this team races and their approach to the sport, and this is something that struck me. I can't wait for the next season and to give my all every time. I would like to contribute to as many victories as possible for the team and experience great moments together," an euphoric Alberto said after signing the contract.
"Alberto is a fast guy and we are convinced that he has a lot to show in the coming years. He has collected some impressive results in group sprints not only in stage races or Grand Tours, but can also show how strong he is in some challenging one-day races, including Belgian semi-classics. Together, we can aim for beautiful things in the next two years," explained Jürgen Foré, CEO of Soudal Quick-Step.
