After the successes of Cretti and Novak, the MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack team returns to racing: a weekend between climbs and speed. Following the excellent performances of recent weeks and the victories by Luca Cretti and Pavel Novak, the MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack team is ready to return to racing with an intense weekend of competitions. Saturday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 3rd are scheduled for two events: Zanè – Monte Cengio, a classic for climbers, and the Gran Premio Fornasiero in Corte - Piove di Sacco, a flat and unpredictable race.
August 2nd – Zanè–Monte Cengio
A historic race now in its 43rd edition, revived thanks to the passion of Venetian entrepreneur Martino Del Santo, a great supporter of cycling. The race covers a total of 121 km, with the finish set around 4:00 PM at the end of the long final climb of 16 km towards Monte Cengio. At the start for the team: Bagatin, Quaranta, Vesco, Oioli, Cretti, Ambrosini
Team Director Flavio Miozzo presents the commitments: "In this race, Matteo Ambrosini returns, practically racing at home – we arrive 5 kilometers from his town – and he has trained well. We come from an excellent period, some riders have already raced a lot and are planning the second part of the season. Oioli is also returning after an injury and will work with Quaranta in the first part of the race. Vesco and Bagatin are two valuable elements for teamwork."
August 3rd – GP Fornasiero, Corte - Piove di Sacco
The following day, the team will be at the start of a completely different race: 177 flat kilometers in the Venetian area, with a technical route and over 200 riders at the start. Lineup: Cretti, Bagatin, Quaranta, Ambrosini, Fiorin, Oioli, Cipollini
"It's a very tricky race," comments Miozzo, "with many curves and relaunches, and even a stretch of gravel road. It will be crucial to avoid crashes and remain in the leading positions. The first selection could happen already after an hour. We have multiple options: we can focus on our sprinters or attempt a breakaway."
Track Activity
Meanwhile, Matteo Fiorin will be engaged in some events of the 6 Giorni di Fiorenzuola, confirming the team's multidisciplinary nature. The race takes place from August 1st to 6th, and Fiorin will be present during the speed-dedicated days.
