Corbin Strong, a New Zealand rider who excels on "classic-style" roads, won the opening stage of the Ethias-Tour de Wallonie, contested from start to finish in Nassogne over a distance of 182 km.
The Israel-Premier Tech rider preceded Norwegian Rasmus Tiller of Uno-X Mobility and Danish rider Anders Foldager of Jayco AlUla. Notable among the day's protagonists was Nicholas Milesi of Arkea B&B Hotels, who was one of the animators of the day's long breakaway.
