Moments of fear on Mont Ventoux when Norwegian Tobias Johannessen was forced to use oxygen and was immediately loaded into an ambulance.
The team doctor of Uno-X, Rory Nolan, explained shortly after what happened: "Tobias had stomach problems after the finish line. He immediately received assistance from doctors and we are happy with the care received. He is now in the ambulance but already feels better. Now he needs to undergo some tests to discover exactly what is wrong".
And the team's sporting director Stig Kristiansen added: "In the last kilometer Tobias Hollans Johannessen reported breathing difficulties. He had previously mentioned stomach cramps. The Ventoux is unfortunately a mountain that makes itself felt. However, we are glad that he was immediately reached by our doctor and was assisted in the best possible way".
For the record, Johannessen crossed the finish line in 28th place in the wake of his teammate Leknessund with a delay of 5'11" from Paret Peintre.
