After the Liberation Grand Prix in Rome, Paula Blasi concludes with raised arms at the Pointe du Raz Ladies Classic held today in France. The 22-year-old Spanish rider from UAE distanced the British Lauren Dickson, registered with the Continental Handsling Alba Development team, by 7" and the 27-year-old Dutch rider Anneke Dijkstra in VolkerWessels Women's jersey by 31". Eleonora Gasparrini was also in the day's top 10.
Paula Blasi said: "I broke my front wheel in an incident in the first gravel sector and tried to survive, and then after exiting the sector, I waited for the car to change my bicycle. After an hour, I had a puncture and had to stop again to change the front wheel and then had to work to get back into the group. Shortly after, we entered the final circuit with six laps, there were several attacks by the FDJ girls and after three or four consecutive attacks, the decisive breakaway was born and I found myself among the five at the head of the race. We were all interested in making it to the end and worked well together. Then a girl attacked and when I thought it was the most opportune moment, I caught up with her and then just over a kilometer and a half from the finish, I went alone on a short climb because I thought it was the ideal time to try something as I didn't want to arrive at a sprint and risk. I'm very happy with this victory".
