David Gaudu will be the lead rider for Groupama FDJ in the Giro d'Italia starting Friday. Alongside their captain, the French team will field the French riders Quentin Pacher, Clement Davy, Enzo Paleni and Remy Rochas, Luxembourg's Kevin Geniets, Norwegian Sven Erik Bystron and Lazio's Lorenzo Germani.
The team's declared objective will be hunting stage victories, with Gaudu explaining: "I've been eagerly awaiting May since I discovered that I would race the Giro for the first time. Although my preparation hasn't been perfect, there's a lot of curiosity, enthusiasm, and naturally, some apprehension. From a sporting perspective, I felt I improved during the Tour de Romandie. The road to Rome will be long, but I'm ready to endure, well supported by a strong team. The goal is to find the right momentum and peak in the third week, when everything could be decided. I know it's a challenging Grand Tour, but also a very open one. I'll tackle it with determination, day by day, hoping to experience fantastic moments with the team".
