An entire city ready to welcome cyclists, enthusiasts, and families for a weekend dedicated to sport, conviviality, and two wheels. Today and tomorrow, Bergamo transforms into the pulsating heart of cycling thanks to the BGY Airport Granfondo, an event that combines the beauty of the territory, the adrenaline of competition, and a rich calendar of side initiatives. We recall that the organizers have decided to dedicate the 27th edition of the granfondo to Pope Francis.
It starts today with a special program organized at the Santini Cycling headquarters: a day designed to experience the world of cycling up close, meet protagonists, discover novelties, participate in exclusive activities, and breathe in the atmosphere of the eve. Various brands will display their products, and it will be possible to pedal and test the 3T Bikes on display.
Sunday, May 4th will be the big day: over 2000 cyclists from 36 different nations of the world are expected to gather at the starting line to experience the emotion of the BGY Airport Granfondo, crossing breathtaking scenarios and roads steeped in history and effort.
A Saturday village... on bicycles!
On the eve of the BGY Airport Granfondo, Saturday, May 3rd, the Santini Cycling headquarters will transform into a space of stories, books, and cycling passion. A special day dedicated to those who tell cycling and sports through words and images, with debates also on nutrition and health. Waiting for the big event on Sunday.

Food and Health
During the afternoon, there will also be spaces dedicated to the theme of food, sports, and health, with the aim of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among cyclists and enthusiasts. The initiative is part of the various initiatives promoted by Regione Lombardia on the theme of Food and Health and Sports and Health, health promotion in Lombardy.
The focus will be on the importance of eating fruits, vegetables, and legumes, varying one's food choices, and how nutrition and sports are fundamental to everyone's life.
An active life is the best tool to prevent many pathologies. A good level of physical activity helps lower blood pressure and hypercholesterolemia values, prevents cardiovascular diseases, obesity and overweight, diabetes, osteoporosis; it also contributes to psychological well-being by reducing anxiety, depression, and feelings of loneliness.
Moreover, a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and with an adequate content of cereals and legumes protects against the onset of various diseases, particularly certain types of cancers and cardiovascular diseases, and helps maintain body weight within normal ranges.
