Tibor Del Grosso beats Giovanni Lonardi in the second stage of the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkiye, the 167.4-kilometer Kemer-Kalkan route. The under-23 cyclocross world champion, who moved to the World Tour with Alpecin Deceuninck this year, celebrates his first professional victory by unleashing all his power at the final slightly uphill finish line. The Dutch rider from Eelde, born in 2023, overtakes and surpasses an excellent Lonardi (Team Polti VisitMalta) who until the last 50 meters seemed poised to win. Belgian Loockx (Unibet Tietema Rockets) completes the podium in third place, with Giovanni Carboni finishing ninth.
Today's breakaway group consisted of Ahmet Orken (Spor Toto), Mateusz Gajdulewicz (Mazowsze Serce Polski), Willie Smit (China Glory), Vinzent Dorn, and Monegasque Antoine Berlin from Bike Aid: they were caught 56 kilometers from the finish at the top of the day's second and final climb, thanks to the forcing by Unibet Tietema Rockets which halved the peloton. With 5 kilometers to go, Aparicio (Burgos Burpellet BH) tried to break away but was caught 1,100 meters from the conclusion of the group.
