The route of the Liège-Bastogne-Liège offers few surprises to the riders and today's race follows the traditional path. Last year, we witnessed Tadej Pogačar's triumph, with Remco Evenepoel notably absent due to an injury at the Tour of the Basque Country. This year's race will be even more challenging because the Belgian and the Slovenian will be joined by Skjelmose, who has already secured important victories this season.

Returning to the route, as tradition dictates, the race starts from Place-Saint Lambert in Liège and after 252 kilometers (two kilometers less than last year), the riders will return to Liège. Despite numerous uphill roads in the first hundred kilometers, significant differences are not expected immediately. The first two hours will be perfect for organizing a breakaway, which could increase its advantage until the turning point at Bastogne.

At this point, the group will have completed the first of eleven climbs, the Côte de Saint-Roch. After over 119 kilometers, the second climb arrives, the Col de Haussire. This, like the Côte de Saint-Roch, is a new addition to the route compared to last year. However, these two climbs will not play a significant role. The real battle will begin when approximately 150 kilometers have been covered, near Vielsalm. About ten kilometers further, the Côte de Mont-le-Soie announces an important part of the Doyenne.

After this climb, we face a series of five very important climbs, which from this moment will decide the race. In less than forty kilometers, we find the Côte de Wanne, the Côte de Stockeu, well-known for Eddy Merckx's statue, then the Côte de la Haute-Levée, the Col du Rosier, and the Côte de Desnié.

Once past Desnié, the group will cross the outbound route and, after a short climb and a quick descent, looking right, they will see the famous Côte de la Redoute, just 1.6 kilometers long but often decisive. The Redoute forces riders to turn right about three hundred meters before the summit, after which a new climb immediately begins, the Côte de Cornémone. This change invites attacks from below, just as Evenepoel had done.

The Redoute is more than ever the judge of Liège-Bastogne-Liège and, consequently, the opener of the last thirty kilometers before the finish. Shortly after follows the Côte des Forges, which leads to the Côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons, whose peak is more than thirteen kilometers from the finish line.

Those who think the climbs are over will be disappointed, because after a brief descent, cyclists coming from Méry will face a very steep climb at Valkenrots. On a cement road, they must overcome gradients up to 10%. Once they reach Boncelles, ten kilometers will remain to the finish line, located on the wide Quai des Ardennes road.
