The first real climb comes after 60 km with the Sant'Antonio Pass (7.8 km at 8%), not categorized as a mountain grand prix, but the real action will happen in the intense final 35 km. There will first be the difficulty of Anras Oberried (2nd category, 4.6 km at 8.4%), followed by a tough ramp of 2.2 km at 10.1% and then the more rideable climb of Kartitscher Sattel (3rd category, 7.6 km at 5.9%), which ends 7 km from the finish.
This is certainly one of the most challenging stages of the race and on paper offers several opportunities for those who want to attack and put pressure on the race leader Michael Storer: Lidl-Trek, Team Picnic PostNL, Israel Premier Tech, and Decathlon Ag2r La Mondiale will certainly try to challenge the Tudor Pro Cycling team.
