Splendid performance by Yukiya Arashiro at the Tour of Thailand, where, with a display of great character, he secured an excellent second place. With 25 km to go, the Japanese rider from Solution Tech - Vini Fantini ignited the race with a decisive attack, managing to break away together with Simon Pellaud. The two escapees engaged in a true battle against the peloton, maintaining their advantage until the final kilometers. Despite the peloton's attempts to close the gap, the breakaway resisted, arriving at the finish line with a 15" margin and sprinting for the victory. Arashiro crossed the finish line in second place, a result that confirms his excellent condition and earns him second place in the general classification.
"I'm happy with this result because it allows me to gain precious seconds for the general classification," Arashiro stated. "The goal was to put other teams under pressure and try to break away, and after several attempts, I succeeded. With Pellaud, we quickly found a good understanding, managing to increase our gap from the group. With 15 km to go, we had a 40-second advantage, so I continued to push to consolidate the margin. Despite the fatigue and heat, it was exciting to fight for victory again after a long time. I didn't win the stage, but the second place is an important result for the general classification. Now I'm second, and my goal is clear: I want to continue gaining time and aim for the overall victory."
