There is undoubtedly a candid and healthy self-irony in the name of RAGLIA TEAM and, if you want, in the Como dialect, "ASEN DE CURSA" which certainly needs no translation.

The origin and motivations of this group under the banner of friendship and passion, especially for cyclocross, are truly amateur, without excessive competitive ambitions, as clearly emerges from the concise yet comprehensive "presentation sheet" created by Cristina Cortinovis, a key figure in the group's various roles.

And the donkey, an animal often disparaged in various contexts and definitions, here obtains recognition of its positive values. Now that the cyclocross season has practically concluded, team members will continue to pedal, both on road and off-road, proudly displaying their black-green jersey with the distinctive logo, in search of enjoyment on various terrains.

The Raglia team was founded in 2014 by the decision of Fausto and Cristina Cortinovis (owners of the eponymous shop in Olgiate Comasco, opened in 2012) to participate in amateur cyclocross competitions and more, wearing their own colors and thus promoting their business. Both with a cycling background on the road, started in the 90s from youth categories in U.C. Puginatese, reaching competitive levels for Fausto (Pedale Saronnese) and women's elite category for Cristina (Michela Fanini and TwoKTwo Sasch): during those years they had the fortune/privilege of competing in cyclocross for a few seasons.

Cyclocross became the team's main discipline from the beginning, with other former athletes and bicycle enthusiasts joining over the years who wanted to try this sport. The team's main purpose has always been fun and participation in cx competitions, as well as more or less playful events, such as the RedBull Mottarone riding old Grazielle bikes, L'Eroica, the 24h of Montello solo, Tuscany trail, randonneés like Paris-Brest-Paris, cycling trips (USA, Iceland, etc.) to name a few.

Moreover, the name Raglia "we are asen da cursa" and the logo (a little donkey) were deliberately chosen. In fact, the donkey is known for being stubborn and obstinate; but in reality and not in popular gossip, it is an intelligent, attentive, prudent, reliable, and agile animal in difficult terrains; thus a team that makes people smile, but in terms of performance and commitment, has always proven its worth.

In 2020, the team organized a cyclocross race in Olgiate Comasco and from that event, part of the team and other enthusiasts worked to obtain a space with a permanent route for training. Since 2023, thanks to collaboration between Raglia, the Remo Calzolari company, and the Municipality of Olgiate Comasco, a "cyclocross school" was born, where young competitive athletes can be introduced to this discipline during the autumn/winter season.
