The time has come for Marco Tizza's seasonal debut. Today, February 2nd, the Brianza cyclist will be at the start of the Grand Prix La Marsigliese, a traditional event on the roads of France. For Tizza, born in 1992 from Nova Milanese, his eighth season as a professional is about to begin, the fourth with the Belgian Wagner Bazin WB team. "I'm calm and ready to return to the group," Tizza explains. "From October until now, I've trained well, but racing will be a different story. This new challenge finds me even more focused than in previous years, and there are many motivations pushing me to perform well, also to repay the trust of the Wagner team management. I hope to be a protagonist right from the start." Demonstrating continuous improvement is one of Tizza's goals. In the past season, he distinguished himself by securing three top-ten finishes, including two fifth places (Memorial Pantani and Trofeo Matteotti) and a seventh position in Spain during the second stage of the Vuelta Valenciana. In his "home" race, the Coppa Agostoni in Lissone, he finished in twelfth place. "Of course, it's not easy to finish at the front, and luck plays a part too. In every race, I feel the adrenaline, especially when it comes down to a compact group sprint. For now, let's focus on today's race. Then we'll see what shape we're in."
