The JCL Team Ukyo opens its 2025 with the AlUla Tour. The team based in Tokyo with a strong Italian component is ready for its seasonal debut in the stage race scheduled in Saudi Arabia from January 28 to February 1.
For the occasion, the JCL Team Ukyo fields an Italian-Japanese roster. Three Japanese riders are at the start, including the national champion: the AlUla Tour will indeed see the debut of Marino Kobayashi with the new team, alongside the confirmed Yuma Koishi and Masaki Yamamoto.
Alongside them are all four Italians in the team: Andrea D'Amato, who will try to leverage his fast sprint in the flat stages, Alessandro Fancellu, Nicolò Garibbo, and Simone Raccani, ready to showcase their qualities on more varied routes.
"It's the first race of the year and we've changed a few athletes," declares sports director Manuele Boaro - "so we'll need to understand the dynamics with the new additions. We'll try to make ourselves seen; we have excellent riders who have joined the group. We'll see stage by stage, if we race as a team, the result will come."
With five stages in line, the riders will have to cover 791.5 km to complete the AlUla Tour 2025, a UCI 2.1 competition in which 17 teams participate, including 6 World Tour and 7 Pro Tour teams. The race begins with a flat stage starting and finishing at the Al Manshyian station in AlUla. The arrival at Bir Jaydah Mountain Wirkah could already write something important for the general classification, which will be decided by the fourth stage at Harrat Uwayrid and possibly on the Camel Cup track in AlUla, in the concluding stage. At least on paper, the third stage is another opportunity for the purest sprinters, with the finish at Tayma Fort.
The JCL Team Ukyo roster for the AlUla Tour 2025 is therefore composed of Andrea D'Amato, Alessandro Fancellu, Nicolò Garibbo, Marino Kobayashi, Yuma Koishi, Simone Raccani, and Masaki Yamamoto, led by sports director Manuele Boaro.
