HAVIK AND POLITT TRIUMPH AT SIXDAYS BREMEN 2025, THIRD PLACE FOR VIVIANI AND CONSONNI

He wanted to redeem himself and succeeded: the Dutch rider Yoeri Havik wins the Antenne Schlager SIXDAYS BREMEN 2025 together with German Nils Politt (Team Hermes Systeme). Last year's winners Roger Kluge and Theo Reinhardt (Team swb) have to settle for second place, ahead of Simone Consonni and Elia Viviani (Team Stark Building Cleaning).
"It's a small dream come true for me," Havik reveals. "As a child, I was a big fan of Danny Stam, who won twice here in Bremen. Since then, my goal has been to stand on the top step of the podium in this race."
Last year, he narrowly missed victory, and this time the competition didn't make things easy for him. For four days, the top three teams fought a tough battle: last year's winners Roger Kluge and Theo Reinhardt started the final madison as favorites with a lap advantage. The pairs formed by Consonni/Viviani and Politt/Havik put great pressure until, with 30 laps to go, the German-Dutch duo launched the decisive chase and thus secured the overall points classification.
"I got goosebumps, it was truly crazy," says sports director Erik Weispfennig, describing the last minutes of the 58th SIXDAYS: "The race was open until the end, but Havik and Politt were the strongest. For Consonni and Viviani, a tire puncture 20 minutes from the end proved fatal."
Viviani, who replaced his younger brother Attilio on the eve of departure, said he was very satisfied despite the third place: "Bremen is truly the best SIXDAYS I have ever participated in. The organization, atmosphere, varied race program, and the mix of sport and festival make it unique. If all goes well, I would like to return, perhaps together with my brother Attilio."
Nils Politt celebrates his second success in the Hanseatic city after 2020 and is already planning his return to Bremen: "I am very happy with this second victory and hope we'll see each other again next year in the same place."
For Theo Reinhardt, a crowd favorite, this was his last race in Bremen. The thirty-four-year-old recently announced his retirement. "Of course, I would have liked to say goodbye to the Bremen audience with a victory, but I still had four fantastic days," says Reinhardt, who won the Bremen SIXDAYS in 2018 with Kenny De Ketele and in 2024 with Roger Kluge. The Berliner adds: "I have so many wonderful memories of Bremen, and they won't be overshadowed by this second place."
