PARIS-NICE 2025. A SYMPHONY UNDER THE OPEN SKY

A grand open-air performance! Paris-Nice 2025 is a reality and immediately recalls Vivaldi's Four Seasons adapted to cycling: a set of movements sometimes performed in winter conditions; pieces for dress rehearsals before the spring classics; minds and calves already occupied by the great summer events, all while the previous autumn's grand maneuvers are finally translated onto the roads.
And in the end, the sequence and variety of terrains proposed, as well as the orchestrated crescendo to the Nice finish line, elevate the most complete riders of the moment to the podium.
The title contenders will first need to start working with their teams from the first stage in the Yvelines, whether the finish is decided in a sprint or through a possible breakaway on the Les Mesnuls climb, nine kilometers from the finish line.
The next day, the most attentive will surely remember that on the road to Bellegarde six years ago, the gusts sweeping the Beauce plains had already excluded some favorites from the game, but not Egan Bernal, who laid the groundwork for his triumph.
The strongest will then measure themselves on a 25.4 km time trial between the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit and the center of Nevers, where we'll begin to understand who the weekend protagonists might be.

The race will head towards Ardèche for the fifth day of racing with a profile that winks at the best puncheurs: the last 50 kilometers are dedicated to them, particularly the brutal wall of Notre-Dame-de-Sciez, with passages at 18% gradient.
The sprinters should then have their say at Berre l'Etang, although the often windy descent of the Rhône Valley puts a question mark on the number of those who will have maintained their position in the group. On the other hand, it is certain that on Saturday, the seventh stage will be decided among a handful (at most) of climbers who will have battled on the climb to Col de la Colmiane and then on the increasingly steep road leading to the town of Auron.
Finally, the spectacle and the final decision on a 119.9 km route around Nice, which reintroduces the Col de la Porte for the first time since 2010, then the Côte de Peille, the Col d'Eze, and finally the Col des Quatre Chemins. Only then will the Baie des Anges open up to view!
