TRIVENETO TROPHY. HUEZ AND PAPO TRIUMPH IN FONTANAFREDDA

For the first time, the association chaired by Gilberto Pittarella organized an event in this discipline, which was appreciated 360 degrees by more than 300 athletes who gave life to the 1st edition of the Gran Premio CX Fontanafredda – G.P. Bike Park. The race location was the bike park, within the sports facilities of Fontanafredda. The track of about 2.5 kilometers was very fast and developed mainly on grass, offering numerous technical sections, many ups and downs, with start and finish on the asphalt track. Many races were characterized by great uncertainty and were decided in a sprint. Uncertainty was the key word in the most important race, reserved for the Men's Open category. From the start, a quartet was selected consisting of Enrico Barazzuol, Tommaso Cafueri, Tommaso Tabotta, and Emanuele Huez. Barazzuol was the first to lose contact. In the final laps, the two Friulian standard-bearers of DP66 Tabotta and Cafueri repeatedly tried to put their opponent in difficulty. The race was decided at the entrance of the final asphalt section. Trentino Emanuele Huez (CS Carabinieri) narrowly won, preceding Tommaso Tabotta and Tommaso Cafueri. The Women's Open competition proposed the new victory of the Friulian Under 23 Alice Papo (DP66) who again confirmed her excellent form, preceding the young junior Giorgia Pellizotti (Sanfiorese). The Treviso girl, who started a minute after her older colleagues, was the author of an entirely comeback race that allowed her to secure the second overall position, ahead of another Under 23, Beatrice Fontana from Treviso (Sportivi del Ponte). The race reserved for juniors was characterized by an exciting head-to-head between the Treviso natives Pietro Cao (Bosco Orsago) and Pietro Deon (Sanfiorese). Attack after attack, the two gave life to a beautiful duel that was decided in a sprint. Pietro Cao won by a very small margin. Third place went to Tommaso Argenton (B Team Cyclocross). In the youth category, two Friulian athletes were successful. Among the second-year boys, Massimo Bagnariol (B Team Cyclocross) prevailed, while Simone Gregori (DP66) topped the first-year category. The Venetian Italian champion Nicole Righetto (Velociraptors) claimed victory among the girls. In the beginners' race, victories went to Simone Brutti (Sc Barbieri) and the national champion Irene Righetto (Velociraptors). In the Masters category, victories went to Marco Gazzola (Bibione Cycling) in Fascia 1, Carmine Del Riccio (Sunshine Racers) in Fascia 2, Sergio Giuseppin (Delizia Bike) in Fascia 3, Flavio Zoppas (El Coridor) in Fascia 4, and Chiara Selva (Spezzotto) among the Masterwoman.
