VPT WHYSPORT - VENETO PROJECT TEAM, A NEW REALITY IN THE WORLD OF UNDER AND ELITE

A beautiful and interesting novelty will involve the 2025 competitive cycling season in Venice thanks to the birth of a new association that will dedicate its attention to riders in the Elite and Under categories. This is the newly formed team called VPT WhySport-Veneto Project Team located in Cazzago di Pianiga, in the province of Venice. Realized thanks to the sports supplement brand from Schio, in the Province of Vicenza, by the members of the Santello family who have had a great and indissoluble bond with cycling for years.
This involves Paolo, the father and famous and great sports director of the recent past with experience leading the Unione Ciclistica Mirano, who will have the task of athletic trainer and will be the cornerstone of the association. With him are his sons Andrea, who is the club president, and Matteo, trainer, sports director, and jack-of-all-trades. Both managers have practiced cycling in various teams in the recent past. Also joining them will be the general manager, Gianluca Mengardo, a former cyclist in the Continental category of "Area Zero" who raced with the Delio Gallina team.
The team colors and therefore the uniform of VPT WhySport-Veneto Project Team, which will be delivered to the athletes on the upcoming December 31st, are based on three colors: green, black, and red. The first and last represent the sponsors, and green to be highly visible on the roads. The new team will consist of 10 athletes: one in the first year of the Elite category, Andrea Busato, and nine Under riders whose names will be revealed in the coming days.
These riders, who have shown promise without achieving brilliant results, will do so in the new competitive season, primarily based on determination and discipline. The Cazzago di Pianiga team will thus be the second in the category in the province of Venice and will join the Fausto Coppi Gazzera-Videa, which this year will accompany the Sc Padovani Polo Cherry Bank.
"Ours is a team of young constitution but with a lot of experience behind it," - Paolo, Andrea, and Gianluca Santello were keen to specify - "born from the desire to support current cycling with an ambitious and significant project. The goal is to give back what this fantastic sport has given us, but also because today's young riders deserve to become men through cycling, without limitations caused by the continuous closures of various teams. With our father Paolo's experience, our contribution, and the support of all the technicians who will help us throughout the next season, and all this will be possible thanks to our partners." "It's a team made first and foremost of heart," they concluded, "because we want the riders to be competitive and put in conditions to give a professional touch, especially to those who do not have that step to give their 100%."
