"Pedal to the West": the first cycle tourism network of routes for slow tourism is born, eager to discover the beauties and excellences of the Villages and territories in the inland areas of Savona, Imperia, and Cuneo Provinces. The official presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 18th at the Savona Province headquarters and will also be an opportunity to discover the "ReLaunchITALY: Ligurian Riviera" project, the territorial marketing strategy for the socio-economic, tourist, and cycle tourism relaunch of the entire Apennine chain.

"Pedal to the West" is a project born from the desire of 23 Municipalities (which should increase for the 2027 edition) to enhance the tourist offering by involving the increasingly broad target of cycle tourists and cycling enthusiasts. The slow, ecological, sustainable tourism of cycling enthusiasts who finally find a digital compass guiding them to discover the Excellences of refreshment points and assistance, and the territory's roads (including stimulating slopes).

Among the many projects for revitalizing inland areas, the 23 Municipalities embraced the pragmatism of Onirica Srl, a Benefit Company owning the "ReLaunchITALY" and "Hello Beauty" brands, which, as in other territories, implemented the project translated into a map (both digital and paper) downloadable through the QR Code shown above, indicating:

- Loop routes from and to each of the 23 participating Municipalities, drawn on mixed roads with varying distances to satisfy every type of cycle tourist. Over 1,600 km of routes among the "Ups and Downs" of the Ligurian Riviera's inland areas, with over 37,000 meters of elevation;

- Specific sheet for each Municipality with the map of loop routes from and to the Municipality itself, a list of artistic, monumental, and natural beauties to see, and a list of local excellences (accommodation facilities, trattorias, restaurants and venues, food and wine, and agri-food companies to visit) as well as services (fountains and parking). All to facilitate cycle tourists who want to choose Partner Villages to experience their journeys.

The map, created in collaboration with Onirica Srl Benefit Company from Provaglio d'Iseo (BS) who designed the project and graphic designer Denise Pippo from Villanova del Battista (AV), is available in digital and paper format (at each Municipality's discretion), distributed to all Italian tourist and cycle tourism operators with the goal of introducing this new tourism opportunity in the provinces of Imperia, Cuneo, Savona, with the support of local tour operators and Onirica's Welfare partner platforms.

Sustainability: Onirica's choice, shared with partner Municipalities, was not to create yet another APP specifically for the cycling world. Primarily to avoid generating CO2 in the atmosphere, caused by data servers. On average, an APP produces 100 to 1,000 times more CO2 than a PDF over a year. Using maps.google, an interactive element linked to the PDF, still allows for a 60-70% saving compared to a specific APP.

The objective is to suggest possible routes that each cycle tourist can manage as they see fit, deciding how to set up, what to visit, which App to use, to spend their cycling days in the Ligurian Riviera.

Testico's Mayor, Lucia Moscato, creator of the agreement with Onirica, commented on the three-year partnership: "We were attracted and convinced by the collaboration proposal with Onirica Srl" and their Administrator Massimo De Sanctis; we decided to strengthen our administrative actions to better promote our territory and its peculiarities through new technologies (naturalistic-environmental, landscape, religious architecture, agri-food, etc.). We wanted to pursue cooperation with many administrators because we strongly believe that cooperation is the lever to give a more intense rhythm and impulse to protecting, enhancing, and developing local heritage and economies. We became promoters of the project and are very happy and grateful to have found widespread participation, certain that it will continue to grow. We hope for positive outcomes not only for all tourists who can benefit from more structured proposals, complete with information about beauties, potential, and available services, but also in the interest of all residents and economic operators. I thank everyone, but particularly Altare's Mayor, Roberto Briano, who made his offices and staff available to coordinate with patience and tenacity every administrative operation necessary to achieve the objectives and transform an interest or good intention into a real and usable proposal for promoting our territories. I naturally thank Onirica, in the person of Massimo De Sanctis, for the proposal and interest in our villages; for believing, as we do, that there are enormous potential to discover and rediscover in our villages, and it's important to make them known and experienced through every positive experience, whether sporting, cultural, naturalistic, or gastronomic."

Altare's Mayor, Roberto Briano, who accepted to lead all participating Municipalities, taking on the economic and operational commitment of his offices, commented: "We convincingly joined the Project, and it was a true pleasure to make our structure available to fully achieve its objectives. We are aware that the success of any initiative increasingly passes through sharing intentions, 'networking' and creating a 'team' with full involvement of each, with their peculiarities and abilities. Putting ideas, skills, and willingness into a common factor and making them a unique and strong strategy is a winning choice that can only bring advantages and benefits, amplifying individual possibilities that, individually, can only have a limited and partial impact. This is the politics I like most, one that can see beyond its borders in favor of broad-minded reasoning, creating spaces and possibilities for innovative and original projects. Only this way can territorial enhancement and promotion have a concrete sense, and initiatives have a real chance of success by maximizing the impact of resources, time, and work invested. We have enormous potential that, to express themselves adequately, need to work together, overcoming 'individual perspectives'."
