The UAE Development Team is pleased to announce the signing of Magdalena Leis for the 2026 season. With the arrival of the German cyclist, the team's roster is officially complete, reaching eleven athletes. Originally from Kaiserslautern-Dansenberg, Leis discovered cycling through her studies at a sports school: a first trial training quickly transformed into a true passion, marking the beginning of her competitive career.
Among the most significant results in her journey is the second place in the individual time trial for Junior Women at the European Championships from last season, an important milestone arrived after a complex start to the year.
"I have always followed the team's growth in recent years and have always dreamed of being part of it. Having the WorldTour team so close to the Development Team and being able to learn from them is extremely exciting. I believe the UAE development squad is one of the best environments to grow as a professional cyclist," Leis stated.
A versatile athlete, Magdalena prefers technically and physically challenging races with varied routes and selective climbs, and has a particular passion for time trials. For the future, her main objective will be personal and sporting growth: "I want to learn as much as possible, help the team in every situation, and gain experience to become a better athlete."
In the coming years, Leis will work primarily on increasing her experience in group dynamics, sprints, and improving her time trial performances.
UAE Team ADQ President Melissa Moncada said: "We are adding another talent to our Development Team and we are very happy to have Magdalena with us. She is a girl with excellent qualities who has already had the opportunity to train with the team during the two winter training camps, and we are confident we can help her grow and continue on her path".
