Already in August, when patron Philippe Wagner had thundered all his discontent over the lack of results, dark clouds and some doubts had risen over the future of the Wagner - Bazin WB. Then, a couple of weeks ago, team manager Christophe Brandt had officially announced the closure of the team, not sparing direct jabs at the French manager, declaring: "I found out that he had started working on a new team..."
And a new team is very likely to be seen from next year: browsing through the pages of the Belgian Cycling Federation's institutional website, in fact, one finds the list of teams that have submitted a request for a Continental license, and among these is also Wagner Bazin.
Following this initial trail, we also found other clues about the emerging formation: according to reports on the pages of En danseuse, the team will be managed by Geoffrey Coupé. The 44-year-old Belgian rider, who was already team manager of Philippe Wagner/Bazin in 2024, is reportedly negotiating with various riders to create a professional and competitive structure.
