The Italian Silvia Persico has decided to continue her career for another three seasons with UAE Team ADQ. The 28-year-old from Bergamo has signed a contract renewal until the end of the 2028 season. A journey that began three seasons ago and is renewed once again, placing Persico among the protagonists of an ambitious project.

In these last three years, the Italian has won a Freccia del Brambante, a Grand Prix de Morbihan, and has been on the final podium of the UAE Tour Women for two years. Her path has been complicated by some injuries and physical issues, especially this year, when she still managed to secure podiums in Spain, at the UAE Tour Women, and an excellent fifth place at the Amstel Gold Race.

Silvia Persico is a tenacious and talented athlete, capable of fully supporting her teammates. She has demonstrated this multiple times, with her fundamental contribution in various decisive moments and in the victories achieved this year by team captain Elisa Longo Borghini, for example at the UAE Tour and the Giro d'Italia Women. Her work and attacks remain in the memory of fans.

A work that must continue, as evidenced by Silvia Persico's words: "I certainly had many difficult moments in recent seasons, but I must say that the team has always supported me, and in this past year, we've created a fantastic group that I work well with and feel completely at ease. With the arrival of a great champion like Elisa Longo Borghini in the team, something special has formed, a beautiful relationship between us that goes beyond cycling. For all these reasons, I decided to continue my adventure with this team because I believe we can still build something important in the years to come."

Silvia Persico was fundamental to the Giro d'Italia Women victory. "That victory at the Giro was the result of months of hard work and team cohesion that gave us even more grit and motivation for the future," Persico adds.

And regarding the future, Silvia Persico's objectives are clear: "I want to continue improving, to be an increasingly important support for a strong captain like Elisa, and personally, I want to return to winning, but some truly important races."
