Starting from the next season, Andrea Vendrame will be a rider for Team Jayco AlUla: the Veneto cyclist has signed a two-year contract with the Australian team.
The 31-year-old athlete is a complete rider, winner of two stages at the Giro d'Italia, and can boast successes at Tirreno-Adriatico, Tro-Bro Léon, and Route d'Occitanie. In this season, he achieved an impressive victory in a mountain stage (third stage), beating riders of the caliber of Tom Pidcock. With the move to Team Jayco AlUla, Vendrame will also reunite with his former teammate Ben O'Connor, with whom he raced for four seasons in the same team.
"I chose Team Jayco AlUla because, from the first meetings, I immediately perceived great confidence in me, and it was easy to build a clear project in line with my goals. After six seasons with the same team, I felt it was time to change and seek new challenges. I am convinced that with this team I can find new motivations and build something truly important. My expectations are high, and I believe I can continue to grow with them. I am excited to wear the Team Jayco AlUla jersey and can't wait to start this new adventure!" Vendrame declared.
These are the words of Brent Copeland, General Manager of Team Jayco AlUla: "Andrea comes to strengthen our group of climbers and is generally a complete rider who has demonstrated his talent multiple times, with results such as stage wins at the Giro d'Italia. He is very motivated, has an aggressive racing style, and we can't wait to welcome him for the next two seasons. We believe he will integrate very well into our team; he already has an excellent relationship with our leader O'Connor, which is always an advantage, given that they have already raced together in the same team in the past."
