Alpecin-Premier Tech continues to move at an increasingly rapid pace towards closing its roster for 2027. With the official announcements of the annual renewal of Austrian road champion Michael Gogl and the two-year signing of Danish rider Morten Aalling Nørtoft, the Roodhooft brothers' squad has brought the number of riders under contract for next year to 28, leaving only two slots still to be filled.
"I am truly motivated to continue with Alpecin-Premier Tech for what will be my sixth season with the team" Gogl said after signing the extension with the Belgian outfit. "Wearing the Austrian national champion's jersey makes everything even more special and gives me extra motivation to work hard and contribute to achieving our objectives. I can't wait to face another season together".
This season the experienced thirty-two-year-old from Gmunden will get to know the newcomer Nørtoft up close, a rider on whom Alpecin, after admiring his performances during his six years of apprenticeship at Continental level, decided to bet by giving him the chance to turn professional at the highest level.
"This step means a lot to me. I have worked to reach this moment over the last six years at Continental level and finally making this jump is an incredible feeling" said the former ColoQuick rider. "It is a fundamental stage in my career and I can't wait to join the team and test myself against the world's best riders" reiterated the Scandinavian newcomer after signing a contract expiring in 2028, a year in which the 2002-born rider from Kollemorten will be joined in Alpecin's World Tour roster by Belgian Michiel Lambrecht.
He, in fact, leaving the defunct Flanders-Baloise, will move to the highest world category only next year after spending all of 2027 racing in the ranks of the Devo team.
"After seeing the last two teams I raced for disappear, I am very grateful to have found a new home" explained the twenty-three-year-old from Tielt, signed by the Belgian representative until 2029. "As a cyclist, you are always looking for the perfect combination of bike, legs and team. I am incredibly proud to be part of such a successful organization, but above all I am honored by the trust it has placed in my potential. I am determined to make the most of this opportunity and prove that both Alpecin and I have made the right choice".
Thanks to his addition (a clear sign of how the team wanted to think ahead for the future as well), today Alpecin's World Tour squad for 2028 already consists of 13 riders, a figure that is not ruled out could rise again once the names of the last two riders with whom the team will complete its 2027 roster are revealed.
