Late yesterday evening, SA Vendée Cyclisme issued a statement regarding its future and its absence from the list of teams that have already completed the procedure for requesting the ProTour license for 2027. We have known for some time that the Vendée-based team lost its main sponsor, TotalEnergies, and for many months there were fears that the team would be forced to close, but in recent weeks there have been increasing reports of a possible ray of hope for the future.
In the statement it reads: "Following the recent UCI communication on certification procedures for professional cycling teams, SA Vendée Cyclisme acknowledges its absence from the list of structures registered for the upcoming season.
The bank guarantee deposited and validated with international bodies encourages us to continue, with rigor and determination, the ethical, financial and administrative work necessary to close its 2027 file.
Aware of the expectations raised by this situation and mobilized to ensure the sustainability of a historic project, with more than three decades of passion and dedication in the service of cycling, SA Vendée Cyclisme commits to communicating new information as soon as it is ready to do so".
