Brandon McNulty is truly delighted as he recounts his satisfaction for a victory he was determined to achieve wearing the rainbow jersey on his shoulders.

"Winning the title and wearing the rainbow jersey has been special, but I absolutely wanted to manage to win at least one race before the end of the year with this symbol on my chest. Today was the last opportunity to do it, so I'm really happy I managed it. I felt very good, the team worked perfectly, so we can say that today everything went absolutely perfectly".

The world champion then recounted the moment when he decided to attack: "The climb I attacked on was the hardest of the day and I knew that at that point I had to push to the maximum right there. The plan worked well, so... it was a perfect day".

McNulty finally emphasized how racing in the rainbow jersey also brings greater attention from opponents: "When you race in a jersey like this, everyone keeps an eye on you. It's a bit different, but the team is really strong, I gave everything and I'm very happy. Just as I'm happy to have won in front of my wife Summer: she's been with me throughout these weeks in Italy, she understood how important it would have been for me to win before the end of the season in this jersey and now it's beautiful to share this joy with her".

But it's not yet time for vacation: "First we have the team retreat ahead of us, to start laying the foundations for next season, we have some commitments with the team and then we can finally allow ourselves a few days of vacation".

And it will be a special vacation, a vacation as a world champion...
