The 360 km separating Como from Nice? Paul Seixas is covering them by car, don't ask why he prefers the Côte d'Azur to the sight of the Lake. The guy is made that way, capable of (over)winning a Lombardia, rewriting hierarchies and making the dreams of his French supporters come true—and they already adore him, imagine now. "Rest can wait" - reports L'Équipe, which after praising the young champion in Decathlon-CGM colors explains the reason for Seixas' trip to the Riviera: "The day after his victory at the Lombardia, his first Monument, the twenty-year-old from Lyon will race again, starting the Roc Azur on Sunday morning in Nice, tackling 55 km and 1,275 meters of elevation gain as active recovery".
The man himself, Paul, adds: "In about a week I have an administrative break and, if I took a vacation right away without the bike, I'd end up breaking it in two. Consequently, I prefer to pedal next week purely for pleasure and then really take a break after the administrative break".
Seixas told the French journalists: "It was an idea born on impulse, Friday afternoon, coming back from the team presentation, I told myself: 'Come on, let me convince myself to do it!'. We'll have some fun with Bruno Armirail".
Besides, you'll remember, last year, just days after the Lombardia where he finished seventh, the then 19-year-old winner of the 2025 Tour de l'Avenir took his bike and crossed from Savoy to Valle d'Aosta, via the Little St. Bernard Pass. Then, during an epic cycling adventure (thanks to the harsh autumn temperatures at certain altitudes), 323 km, he reached the Aosta Valley capital and climbed the Great St. Bernard, crossing into Switzerland and from there reaching his grandparents' home, just outside Sallanches. Oh yes, in 2027 the Haute-Savoie will host the Super Worlds.
Good luck at the Roc Azur and happy (active) holidays, kid.
