Antonio Scalise, 63 years old, lost his life following a collision with a Fiat Uno driven by an elderly man. Yet another tragedy involving a cyclist occurred today in Calabria along the Jonica state road, in the municipality of Cropani (Catanzaro).

According to initial reconstructions, the accident happened in the direction of Taranto and the cyclist, who was returning from a nearby supermarket, died as a result of the violent impact with the car.

The paramedics, who arrived promptly at the scene with emergency vehicles, could only confirm the cyclist's death. As reported by colleagues at the Gazzetta del Sud, the competent authorities conducted investigations to determine the circumstances of the accident.
