The second day of the World Championships in Canada is entirely dedicated to the time trial events in the Under 23 category, both men and women. Among the women, however, there will be no Italian representative at the start.

Attention therefore focuses on the 52 registered athletes, representing 31 nations, who will compete for the rainbow jersey over the 20.3 kilometer course. Last year in Kigali, British rider Zoe Backstedt won, finishing second among the elite yesterday.

The race will start at 14:58'30" with Benin's Georgette Vignonfodo, while the last competitor to leave the starting ramp will be Slovak Viktoria Chladonova, expected at 16:15:00.

Among the main candidates for the rainbow jersey are Australian Felicity Wilson-Haffenden, German Justyna Czapla, home favorite Ava Holmgren and Slovak Viktoria Chladonova, considered by many as one of the athletes most likely to reach the podium. Also worth watching closely is Belgian Luca Vierstraete and three young debutants in the Under 23 category already prominent at international level: Spanish Paula Ostiz, junior world silver medalist in 2025 and European category champion, Dutch Megan Arens, junior world champion in Kigali, and Norwegian Oda Aune Gissinger.

Also at the start is Argentine Delfina Dibella, a familiar face to Italian cycling thanks to her time with the Vini Fantini BePink team, ready to make her mark in a race that promises to be particularly competitive.
