Davide Boscaro won the opening stage of the Giro del Veneto for elite and Under 23 riders, which kicked off today with a 1 km individual time trial prologue in Piazzola sul Brenta. The Padovani POLO Cherry Bank rider stopped the clock at 1'10"99, a performance that secured victory ahead of Matteo Fiorin (Solme Olmo Arvedi), who finished 1"28 back, and Ukrainian Andrii Zozulia, third at 1"87.

Rounding out the top ten are Banfi, Quaglia, Bozzola, Perani, Godizzi, Buda and Baldini, all separated by just tenths of a second in an explosive and high-speed effort.
