Everything is ready in Racconigi, in the province of Cuneo, for the two concluding races of the "Three Days in Pink in the Lands of Granda 2026", a multi-stage event reserved for the women open category organized by the Racconigi Cycling Team of president Silvio Traversa and team manager Claudio Vassallo.
Following the second edition of the "Fossano Savings Bank Trophy - City of Fossano", won by track world champion Agata Campana (Bft Burzoni - Vo2 Team Pink), the two final stages are scheduled for next weekend in the heart of the city of the Savoy royals. Saturday, September 12th (starting at 4:30 PM) a spectacular individual time trial, 2,850 meters long and completely flat, will award the "Franco Traversa Memorial", while Sunday, September 13th (with the start set for 9:30 AM) will see the thirteenth edition of the "Inalpi Dairies Trophy - Annibale Viterie". A total of 106.8 kilometers of racing, divided into two distinct circuits with no altimetric difficulties but particularly technical: the first, to be repeated eight times, is laid out on the roads between Racconigi and Cavallerleone, while the second, shorter one, to be tackled four times, is entirely contained on the streets of the city where Umberto II, Italy's last king, was born.
"The pink race returns, the main women's cycling event in the Piedmont region. An appointment that over the years has grown in quality, participation and prestige, becoming a point of reference for our entire territory - emphasized Racconigi mayor Valerio Oderda - we are particularly pleased that the 'Three Days in Pink in the Lands of Granda' event also touched the city of Fossano, confirming that when you work well and in synergy, results come. True collaborations produce value, for sport and for communities. We hope that once again the athletes can compete on a course and circuit worthy of their abilities: a route that can offer satisfaction from a competitive standpoint and, at the same time, deliver spectacle and emotion to the public, as happened in previous editions. For us it is a source of pride and an extraordinary showcase for the territory. Racconigi hosts sport, hosts women's cycling, hosts opportunities. And we are particularly pleased about this. Heartfelt thanks go to the Racconigi Cycling Team of Silvio Traversa and Claudio Vassallo who, with passion and expertise, once again organize this important event. Long live sport, long live women's cycling, long live Racconigi."
"In my role as sports delegate for Racconigi, finding myself once again participating in, promoting and actively contributing to this event represents great satisfaction for me - explained Andrea Pettiti, councilman with responsibility for sports in the municipality of Racconigi - it means becoming protagonists again of lived sport and practiced sport, the real thing, the kind that unites people and helps the community grow. As in previous years, and as with all events held on our territory, I hope these days are marked by fair play, being together well and mutual respect, but also by proper competition and the correct approach to sporting activity. Particular attention goes to youth activities, which are closest to my heart and on which, as an administration, we are investing energy and planning. We strongly believe in sport as an educational tool, as an opportunity for growth and as a gymnasium of values. We want this event to be a showcase of satisfaction for everyone: for families, for organizers, for the public and especially for the athletes who will be the true protagonists of these days. Because when sport is done well, it always leaves something more: enthusiasm, friendships, positive examples and a territory that grows together with its young people."
