Extraordinary Italy! Italian track cycling confirms itself as a superpower and sweeps the Junior World Championships in Heusden-Zolder (BEL). It was difficult to imagine doing better than last year in the Netherlands, when the delegation collected six world titles and 13 medals. A year later, with most of the 2025 protagonists now moved up to the Under 23 category, the Italian team has surpassed itself, returning from the Belgian track with an incredible haul: 16 medals, including 8 world titles that secure an undisputed lead in the final medal standings.

“We have been collecting successes in this sector for years – commented president Cordiano Dagnoni – in a crescendo of results that has no parallel in the recent history of track cycling. It seems to me the best answer to those who claim there are no replacements behind our top riders and to those who systematically write off our movement. I should point out that in this category the eligibility period is only two years, and these results are therefore not the fruit of a single talent, but of serious planning work that began in the last four-year cycle. Let me highlight the extraordinary streak of successes in the men's team pursuit (five consecutive world titles) and the medals won in the sprint sector with different athletes. A sector, it should be remembered, that was completely non-existent five years ago. As always, I thank all the coaches and their respective staff who have made it possible to reach these levels and, of course, the clubs and athletes, who are the true engine of our sporting movement.”
