After three second-place finishes in what is his first season as a junior following a 2025 campaign with 14 victories as a second-year rookie, Luca Ferro of Bustese Olonia secured his first victory as a junior by winning the Eroica at Monteroni d'Arbia in the province of Siena.

A prestigious victory in the 2026 edition of Sport Angels-Eroica-Memorial Doriano Fontirossi, a race where everything happened. Tough, selective, "without" a meter of flat terrain, with breathtaking climbs and gravel sections, the Sienese race gave top marks to the quartet that took control in the final stages and formed by Ferro, Pierangelini, Lodovisi and Gliottone.

The group of four battled it out on the final difficulties of the race but remained united as they approached Monteroni d'Arbia for the sprint that saw Ferro prevail over Pierangelini, Lodovisi and Gliottone, with an advantage of two and a half minutes over the first chasers, with Umbrian Longari taking fifth place. A spectacular, thrilling race with 66 starters and 35 finishers.
