A gold medal decided by the narrowest of margins in the women's time trial at the Mediterranean Games: France's Amandine Muller claimed the top step of the podium, managing to edge out Spain's Sandra Alonso by less than half a second. The French rider controlled the race brilliantly, building momentum throughout the second half of the effort.

Third place went to Slovenia's Nika Bobnar, while Italy's Elena Cecchini just missed the podium in fourth, finishing two seconds back. Her Italian teammate Martina Fidanza rounded out the top six, crossing the line 39 seconds behind the winner.
