Tuscany proves to be a happy hunting ground and land of conquest for the twenty-three-year-old Piedmontese rider from the province of Novara Manuel Oioli of Swatt Club, an athlete with excellent qualities and potential but inconsistent in his performances. In his fifth season as an amateur, he has achieved five victories, four of which in Tuscany, at Montecatini, Lazzeretto, Corsanico and Viareggio, and the most beautiful is undoubtedly, as he himself acknowledged, his first of 2026 obtained in the 79th Florence-Viareggio. A superb performance with a breakaway that saw him leading the race alongside others for 125 km and alone for the final ten kilometers when the explosive nineteen-year-old Belarusian Slesarenko crashed on the treacherous descent of Pedona and Oioli found himself alone at the front, reaching the finish line on the Versilia seafront.

A touch of luck, then, for the incident mentioned, but a victory that rewards him and relaunches his season. "He needs to believe more in his abilities and find the necessary consistency – says his team manager, Massese Lorenzo Peschi – a rider like Manuel who has class and talent should be a protagonist more often". Swatt Club crowned their brilliant performance with the third place finish by Ginestra who, along with the best Tuscan Samuele Bertolli, distinguished themselves among the chasers. Unfortunate Slesarenko, first in the mountain prize at Pedona after dropping everyone, but on the descent came the crash which fortunately had no consequences, and the second place of the young Biesse Carrera Premac rider is well-deserved. The expected Lorello, Crescioli, Magli, Ansaloni, Bruno finished at 57", having conceded too much space to the breakaway that decided the Ferragosto classic which started after 56 km with protagonists Oioli, Slesarenko, Paltrinieri, Carollo, Tela, Lucca and Pezzo Rosola. The last four mentioned lost contact along the way while the chasers finished three minutes back at 20 km from the finish, beginning their comeback too late. On the climb Slesarenko was the strongest, followed by Oioli and Paltrinieri, but Oioli was unstoppable. At the start of the Florence-Viareggio, the main sponsor was the Corpo Vigli Giurati with 135 riders and excellent organization by the Pistoia Motorcyclists group and Aurora.
