Second episode of the "dispute" between the Cycling Federation and the League signed by Gazzetta dello Sport. Mario Canfora takes stock today with Enrico Negretti, president of the Board of Auditors, who is still barred from office: "Allow me to say that I know this matter well, I accepted to run after carefully studying the situation and verifying that the financial statements were in excellent condition. I consider myself very independent, consider that I have never had lunch or dinner with President Pella. This is a very borderline commissioning, not to say illegitimate. The League's activity was carried out according to the rules, which makes me think there may be some jealousy, that is, that the League has "built" numbers that the Federation does not possess. Women's TV rights? We've been going on like this for four years and in that case one would say that you don't commission a League for 250 euros. I see no irregularities, I can repeat it infinitely".

Let us recall that the League was placed under administration on July 20th by the Federal Council and that in fact this measure concerns organizers and teams almost a month before the GP Industria & Artigianato, which will mark the resumption of the autumn calendar of Italian races, but it is also worth remembering that everything will be carried forward by the appointed commissioner Mauro Capone, Brigadier General in the reserve of the Carabinieri, to guarantee the continuation of activities. Yesterday's meeting with the associated teams and organizers took place and everything should proceed as per the agreed and signed programs.

On the subject, Filippo Pozzato, organizer of Giro del Veneto, Veneto Women and Veneto Classic, also spoke today on the "rosea", finding no valid justifications. "Since both presidents have a position of responsibility, why one, Pella, represents professional cycling and the other, Dagnoni, the entire cycling movement, in my opinion even if they don't agree they must sit down at a table and find a solution that works for everyone, but apparently this willingness doesn't exist. Wars only bring death and bloodshed, but nothing good. I think the best solution now would be to go to the polls as soon as possible to avoid causing disruption to the entire movement".

Luca Roveda, organizer of the Coppa Bernocchi, echoes this sentiment and is perplexed. "Frankly, I find it difficult to identify who could benefit from this commissioning. As an organizer, I instead see clearly who risks losing out: the teams and, more generally, Italian cycling. In the last two years the League, under Pella's presidency, has proven to be a credible and concrete interlocutor. Today cycling needs continuity and collaboration, not conflicts between institutions. And I believe it is right to quickly return the floor to the members and proceed with new elections".
