The 2026 Tour de France Femmes will start from "her" Switzerland and Marlen Reusser wants to be among the protagonists of the race. The 34-year-old Swiss rider from Movistar returns to wear the number more than a month after her third victory at the Tour de Suisse and following the "silver medal" she obtained at the national road championship.
To support the designated leader, the Spanish team's technical staff have called up experienced riders such as Liane Lippert and Sara Martín. The German national road vice-champion will take part in her fourth Tour de France and, if the opportunity arises, will try to improve on the fourth place she achieved last year at the Quimper finish line; the Spanish rider arrives at the Tour de France after finishing second in both the Spanish national road championship and the time trial championship.
As already happened at the Giro d'Italia Women and the Tour de Suisse, Reusser also wanted Francesca Barale: despite still being young, the 2003-born rider from Domo will face her eighth Grand Tour of her career and will certainly be helpful to the team in stages characterized by climbs and steep sections. Extremely important will also be the contribution that Tota Magalhães will give to the team: the Brazilian climber-passer born in 2000, whom we got to know at the 2024 Giro d'Italia Women when she wore the Bepink jersey, is about to experience her third Grand Tour of this season.
Paula Ostiz, on the other hand, will make her Grand Tour debut. The 19-year-old from Navarre, world and European champion among Juniors last year, has been called by Movistar's technical staff to the Tour de France Femmes to gain experience and continue her growth path among the elite.
Finally, it will be the Cuban Arlenis Sierra who will seek results in the stages most suited to the sprinters.
