It's not been a straightforward season for Tudor, which despite performing well in the Giro d'Italia GC with Storer 7th and Rondel 11th, finds itself in 3rd place in the UCI ProTeams ranking: approximately 600 points and 2 fewer victories compared to the other Swiss squad Pinarello Q36.5, approximately 200 points and 3 fewer victories compared to Cofidis, with big names like Alaphilippe and Hirschi in clear decline. To complete the picture of a transitional period, last month Fabian Cancellara's team "sacked the coach" as one would say in football: it removed Portuguese Ricardo Scheidecker from his position as head of sports directors.

The team's CEO Raphael Meyer explained the decision to our Dutch WielerFlits colleagues: "We had different visions regarding the future organization of the team, it's not easy to make certain decisions. I understand that parting ways with Scheidecker just two weeks before the Tour de France may raise eyebrows about the timing, but what would be the right moment? The Tour planning was practically completed and we redistributed responsibilities within the staff. During these three weeks of racing we've established with the sports directors and communicated to the riders the program for the second half of the season, which will see us competing in the Vuelta a España for the first time. The Tour, however, isn't going badly, we've managed to make our mark and the unfortunate retirements of Trentin and De Kleijn haven't helped. In any case, now is the time to look ahead and focus on the future".
